This series was created as way of monitoring county convicts entering state facilities. It consists of bound volumes which list names of and information on county convicts from 1931 to 1954. Each entry includes the convict's name, county where convicted, alias, date received, serial number, race, sex, age, court number, holdover information, transcript book and page number where transcript is located, crime, date sentence began, term, length of sentence under long and short time, whether the prisoner was an ex-convict and if so the pertinent information, dates of escapes and recaptures, discharge and temporary parole dates, and date, cause and place of death. The county record also lists convict's weight, physical condition, condition of teeth, Wasserman result, and any identifying marks. Some blood pressure and urinalysis test results are also included. This series includes records created by the Board of Administration (1923-1939), the Dept. of Corrections and Institutions (1939-1953), and the Board of Corrections (1953-1979).
